A diamond and gem set four leaf clover brooch, modelled with pear-shaped gemstones of pink, pale blue, orange and green tints in foiled closed-back settings, each edged by a row of similarly set rose-cut diamonds, enclosing a central old-cut diamond and issuing a rose-cut diamond set stem, two colour precious metal mounted, with later fitting, length 2.75cm
Heavy abrasion to the coloured gemstones, with chips, scratches and scuffs to the surface of each. It is assumed that stones have a coloured foiled backing to enhance their hue. The central diamond is bright and lively but contains surface-reaching fractures/chips and weighs approx. 0.08ct. The outer diamonds have a typically greyish, fractured appearance, some stones with surface chips, and have patchy discolouration to the foiled backing. The mount has signs of general wear, with scratches, scuffs, nicks/chips and heavy tarnishing. The fittings are later added and currently functioning. Metal standard is untested, but the appearance of the mount suggests that it may be a gold and silver combination. Gross weight approx. 6.3gm.
