A late 19th/early 20th century enamel and vari gem-set fringe necklace, designed as series of blue and white enamel winged drops, each centred with an old-cut diamond and cabochon turquoise cluster and with similarly set surmount, the principal drop suspending an oval mixed-cut pink topaz with old-cut diamond set cardinal points, on a brick-link back chain, total diamond weight approximately 0.90ct, length 39cm
Surface pitting, fractures, scuffs and nicks/chips to enamel. Diamonds graduate from approximately 0.015ct to 0.20ct in size each and have variable colour and clarity, some stones with surface-reaching fracture and mineral inclusions, estimated SI1 to P3 clarity and J to tinted colour, assessed mounted. Turquoises have surface wear, chips, fractures and veined inclusions and some have discoloured to variable greenish hues. The pink topaz has a light pink hue with surface wear, scuffs and chips/nicks, measuring approximately 12.5mm length x 6.5mm width. The winged mounts and back chain have patchy tarnishing/discolouration and general surface wear, some of the winged mounts with areas of dark solder to the reverse and fine splits/creases to the backs of the cluster settings. Some of the back chain links are a little mis-shapen. The clasp is currently functioning. Metal standard is untested. The necklace appears to be unmarked and unsigned. Length of central pendant/drop 4.6cm, width 3.9cm. Gross weight approximately 41.5gm.
