A diamond and gem set spray brooch, modelled as a cluster of oval chatoyant cabochons centred with two round brilliant-cut diamonds, enclosed by a tapered ribbon of graduated baguette-cut diamonds and further brilliants, white precious metal mounted, signed TRIO and stamped '18K', total diamond weight approximately 0.95ct, length 4cm
Diamonds are well matched, bright and lively, with estimated VS1 to SI2 clarity and H to K colour, assessed mounted, and graduate from approximately 0.08ct to 0.005ct in size. The chatoyant cabochons are possibly chrysoberyl cat's eye stones, but are untested as such. Most of the cabochons contain inclusions such as fractures, fissures and small minerals and all have surface wear, scuffs and nicks/small chips. The largest cabochon measures approximately 10.5mm length x 6.5mm width x 5.2mm depth. The brooch mount appears to be relatively modern with light surface wear and has dark solder joins/repairs at some junctions within the frame. The brooch pin is a little mis-shapen but functioning and the safety catch is functioning. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 14gm.
