A Victorian enamel and half pearl bangle, of hinged oval form, the tapered frontispiece with a circular boss, centred with a half pearl edged by a star-shaped blue enamel border, framed by bead and ropetwist wirework borders, gold mounted, (half pearl untested for origin), inner diameter 6cm
Losses and chips to blue enamel star. Scuffs and blemishes to half pearl. The back of the bangle has a raised panel to the centre, which may be later added. Scuffs, scratches, nicks and chips throughout the bangle, commensurate for age and use, with scattered dings/dents and impressions to the mount and patchy tarnishing/staining. The hinge and clasp are both currently functioning. The tongue clasp has a worn mark which is illegible. The mount tapers in width from approx. 8.4mm to 20mm. The central boss has a screw fitting to the back. Gold standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 17gm.
