Chinese, late Ming/early Qing period
with a cream and brown streak to one side and carved as a Han-style mythical animal, depicted reclining length-wise on four legs with claw feet and face with rounded eyes looking forwards and slightly upwards, above a simply carved linear closed mouth and behind the head two ears formed by rings, 7cm long x 3cm high on a hardwood fitted oval stand
