A pair of 19th century diamond chandelier ear pendants, each designed as a foliate drop suspending a circlet and further foliate spray, issuing a trio of drops below, set throughout with graduated old and lasque-cut diamonds in foiled closed-back settings, on later screw-back fittings, length 7.3cm
Most of the diamonds are heavily included and have chips and surface-reaching fractures, with patchy discolouration to the foiled backing. Occasional stones may be later replaced. Both of the upper panels to each ear pendant have later added bars to the back, with associated dark solder joins. One of the pear-shaped drops has splits and cracks to the back of the setting. Most of the connecting jump rings and junctions within the ear pendants are worn and some of these rings and junctions have solder repairs. Two of the rings are indistinctly marked. The mounts and settings have considerable wear, patchy thinning and tarnishing throughout, with chips/nicks and scuffs, commensurate for age and use. The screw-back fittings are later added, both are currently functioning. Metal standard is untested but possibly a gold/silver combination. Gross weight approx. 16.2gm.
