A late 19th/early 20th century amethyst and diamond pendant, modelled as a snowflake cluster, the cushion-shaped mixed-cut amethyst bordered by trios of graduated old-cut diamonds, below a similarly cut diamond set bale, gold and silver mounted, total diamond weight approximately 0.90ct, length 4.1cm
The amethyst has a light to mid-purple hue with large areas of whiteish colour zoning that are visible to the eye. The amethyst has scuffs, scratches and nicks/chips to the surface and measures approx. 12.5mm length x 8.9mm width x 4.7mm depth. Diamonds graduate from approximately 0.01ct to 0.15ct in size and have variable colour and clarity, some stones with chips/nicks and fractures, estimated SI1 to P3 clarity and H to M colour, assessed mounted. The edges and tips of the pinched collet settings are worn and some stones may require re-setting. The mount has general wear, scuffs and chips commensurate for age and use, with patchy tarnishing, and the inside of the bale has wear caused by a prior chain. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 4.8gm.
