An Edwardian amethyst and half pearl pendant, the scrolled openwork panel centred with an oval mixed-cut amethyst in claw setting, framed by half pearl set foliage, stamped '9CT', suspended from a fine curb-link chain with later fittings, (half pearls untested for origin), pendant length 4.1cm
General surface wear, scuffs and nicks/chips to the amethyst, half pearls and pendant mount, commensurate for age and use. The half pearls have discoloured to greyish hues and some have fractures to the nacre surface. The pendant has areas of verdigris staining at junctions within the panel and wear to the tips of the claw setting. The chain is untested as gold/gilt metal and has later base metal fittings, with surface wear throughout. Chain length 49cm. Gross pendant weight approx. 2.5gm, gross chain weight approx. 2.6gm.
