Blue and white 'Birds and Flowers' bowl

Chinese, Wanli

painted on the well of the interior with a bird standing on rockwork, surrounded by eight long panels of fruits and branches, the exterior with further panels depicting birds and insects flanking lotus, bamboo and foliage, 12.5cm diam.; together with a blue and white and copper red water dropper, 18th/19th Century, shaped as a seated mythical beast, 10.5cm high, and a white glazed box and cover, 12th/13th Century, of circular shape, decorated with moulded designs of stylised scrollwork. 15cm diam. (3)

The blue and white bowl with glaze fritting, small chips and nicks, the water dropper with firing imperfections; the box with cover cracked, chips and nicks to the extremities, and impurities penetrated into the glaze.
