An Edwardian 9ct gold bangle by Smith & Pepper, the hinged oval bangle of bifurcated form, decorated with repeating scrolls and beads, hallmarked for Birmingham 1909, inner diameter 5.6cm
There are several splits with associated dark solder repairs to the back of the bangle and several dings, dents and kinks also to the back of the bangle. The frontispiece has fewer, less obvious dings, dents and splits but most of the beads do have splits or holes to the reverse. The clasp is currently functioning and the safety chain may be later added. Hallmarks are clearly struck, with some wear to the maker's mark. Width of bangle 1.33cm at front, tapering to 0.6cm at back. Gross weight approx. 11.1gm.
