A late Victorian/Edwardian opal set bracelet, designed as a line of graduated hollow curb links, spaced by oval cabochons opals in claw settings, gold mounted, length 16cm
Opals are well matched, with plays of greens, blues and pinks to a whiteish ground. All of the opals have surface wear, scratches and scuffs and some of the opals have sizeable chips and nicks, which penetrate into the cabochons, commensurate for age and use. Opals graduate in size from approximately 5.8mm length x 5mm width to 4.4mm length x 3.8mm width. The tips of the claw settings are worn and occasional claws may require re-tipping. The curb links are hollow and some links have holes, splits and dents which may require repair. The clasp is tight fitting. Metal standard is untested. There is a worn mark to the clasp, possibly '1?'. Gross weight approx. 14.5gm.
