A late Victorian/Edwardian diamond star pendant/brooch, the principal old-cut diamond bordered by rays of graduated old and lasque-cut diamonds, gold and silver mounted, with detachable brooch fitting, (one diamond deficient), total weight of old-cut diamonds approximately 1.35ct, length 3.6cm
The old-cut diamonds graduate from approximately 0.20ct to 0.04ct in size and have a bright and lively appearance, some stones with surface-reaching fractures/chips, estimated SI1 to P2 clarity and I to L colour, assessed mounted. Lasque-cut diamonds are lively but with a typically fractured/chipped appearance. The mount has general surface wear, with tarnishing to the setting and some thinning to the edges of the setting. The brooch pin is mis-shapen but functioning. Metal standards are untested. Gross weight approximately 7.1gm.
