We are delighted to welcome Jessie Edmonds as our new Jewellery Specialist, who will be working alongside our Head of Department, Louise Dennis, to lead the team in Oxford. This is an especially exciting appointment, as Jessie and Louise have worked together before and are both award-winning gemmologists with extensive experience in the auction world. We're thrilled to have Jessie join the Mallams jewellery team.
Jessie brings impressive credentials to Mallams. As a fully qualified gemmologist, she recently achieved something quite remarkable – the Mok Diamond Practical Prize for attaining the best results worldwide in the Diamond Practical Examination of the Diamond Diploma at Gem-A. This international recognition speaks volumes about her exceptional skill and dedication to the field.
After studying History of Art at university, Jessie gained experience in the auction industry before taking on a jewellery specialist role at a prestigious London-based auction house. Her expertise spans fine jewellery and watches, with particular strength in diamond grading and gemstone identification. These skills will prove invaluable as we continue to handle increasingly sophisticated and valuable pieces for our clients across Oxford, the Cotswolds, and beyond.

Jessie and Louise’s professional paths first crossed at Bonhams Oxford, where they worked together in the jewellery department. Their shared expertise and collaborative approach make this reunion a natural fit.
Louise joined Mallams Auctioneers in 2015 and has been instrumental in developing our jewellery sales into the thriving department it is today. Having Jessie join her brings additional expertise and capacity to support our growing client base.

With Jessie joining Louise, our Mallams jewellery department now has two award-winning gemmologists working side by side. Their combined expertise covers everything from fine jewellery and luxury watches to contemporary pieces and precious stones.

Our jewellery valuation mornings are held every Tuesday at our Oxford and Cheltenham salerooms from 9am–1pm — the perfect opportunity to meet them, discuss your pieces, and receive expert guidance on the auction process.
We also hold regular valuation days at Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames and in Burford, so keep an eye out for upcoming dates to meet our jewellery team.
